Final Cut!

Since we finished production last week Sunday, this entire week has fallen on me for post-production editing.
I finalized the film recently and now reflecting back on everything, I've realized I learned a lot more about the post-production process. Last year I was focused completely on sound, so I was given a complete no audio film and worked with that; this year however, I was given 20 clips and a 2 minute film to reference on how to put together.
I started with taking apart the car scene, where I had to break down three main clips we took during filming and seeing how to bounce back and forth with them. Then the most challenging part of editing was working with the green screen scenes. Editing wasn't my specialty, but going back to AS level days I researched software's to use, and ended up using Cap Cut, which using made the process much easier then originally expected.
After the editing was done, I finally moved on to my specialty, sound. It was about 30 seconds into the sound designing that I realized I forgot how to use adobe audition. I remembered I was once new to audition and documented it all last year! I viewed my old AS level blog to see how I used audition when I was learning, and I got back into the hang of it. I experimented with the sound diegesis like last year and imputed non diegetic and diegetic dialogue.
Looking back on the process of this project, I think it was very helpful. I got back into using editing software's/technologies and just the fun of making a film with my crew. Since I'm not going to have our editor Kate this year, and still unsure if I'm going to work with my crew for the final portfolio, I'm grateful I got to do one more project to lay back into film making this school year.
Anyways, this is the final Barbie transportation swede!

Filming and Rough Cut!

My crew and I wrapped up production on Saturday, and I was able to put together a rough draft shown above. As far as production went, we filmed mainly outside, using our Barbie actors' convertible for the car scenes. Our cinematographer did a shot list of all specified shots in the scene, and the beginning dialogue had 3 main shots. A reaction shot from Barbie, Ken, and both of them. We filmed the same lines/scenes in 3 different angles to recreate, all of which I put into place for the rough cut. Besides the car scenes... the transportation scenes that are green screened. We had a little trouble putting the green screen up, but after we began filming and ended up having fun with the low quality props and costumes. We figured out what worked with the green screen (pulling it at both sides because it was wrinkly) and what I personally could've improved on (ironing greenscreen). This whole swede is just a learning process to get back into the filming habit and start on some advanced production aspects for our final productions. Production went nicely since we had a coherent plan and strategy going into production.
